Polished Fall Work Outfits that Aren’t Stiff or Boring
Corporate style has come a long way. We’re finally at a place where women can look professional and polished at work without having to dress stiff or boring. If you’re heading back to the office soon and need ideas for classy work wear that is modern and relaxed, here are a few ways to create some fabulous fall business outfits.

1. Wear a Comfortable Cotton Skirt
Skirts are one of the most professional items you can wear at work, but not all skirts are created equal, and many are just downright uncomfortable. So why not feel good and look pulled together in this stretch cotton midi skirt by Vince? I’m showing it here in a neutral tan color, which makes it very versatile. Add a ruffle neck blouse, sand slingback heels, a structured leather tote, a set of bracelets and pearl drop earrings, and you have a pretty office look that feels fresh and feminine but is also authoritative.

2. Wrap Up Your Work Style
Are you looking for the perfect office outfit to wear after hours? This Vince Camuto wrap dress is all you need. This iconic style of dress, first made famous by Dianne Von Furstenberg, is an excellent choice when you want to feel feminine but powerful. Skip the florals this fall and wear a high-tech abstract print. Burgundy is trending and looks rich and modern combined in this trendy print.

3. Suit Yourself
Matched suits are back in style and perfect for women our age who want to wear pants and have an executive look. This rich-looking two-piece suit is seriously chic! I love it with this geometric print blouse. With or without a jacket, these pants and this top will sell out fast! Note: This blouse also looks chic with dark-wash denim.
What will you be wearing to the office come September?

I love that fall wrap dress! I wonder if it comes in petite. Will check it out. Usually, I don’t like that length but with tall boots might work. & love the slingback for a dressier look. I do love Vince & CeCe brands since I can find petite in them at times. You find the best items!!!
Bonnie
Hi Bonnie, Vince Camuto does make some dresses in petite sizes and at Nordstrom it says there are petite, but I looked everywhere and I don’t see the petites. I’d give them a quick call as petites may be coming in still. Glad you like my picks! Cheers, Deb
All three outfits are so classy, perfect! For work, I wear clothing that isn’t stiff. Even though I need to look professional, I want to be comfortable. :)
Due to a shoulder problem, I can no longer wear shoulder or arm bags and have to use a backpack to work. Of course, it should be a stylish and age-appropriate backpack: I do not want to look like a schoolgirl or tourist. And that is my problem: what makes a backpack (that should still be comfortable, with not too small shoulder straps) look ladylike, what should I look for, and where to find it? Can you give me advice, or perhaps have a topic on this? I think many 40+ women experience some problems with shoulders, back, or joints and would enjoy tips for comfortable yet stylish bags!
Hi Claire, Wow, this must be a big problem because I just checked, and even Gucci and YSL have backpacks, lol! My best advice would be to find a bag that looks more like a purse than a backpack. I like these because they don’t have that extensive, heavy touristy look. They are smaller with a purse-like shape and some excellent detail. I wouldn’t hesitate to try something like this for work. They look professional and are a great way to avoid arm and shoulder pain!
I always love a navy blue dress! A structured bag adds polish to an outfit, especially a work outfit.
