Talbots New Arrivals: The Best Early Spring Style!
Spring may be here on the calendar, but if you live in the north, like I do, March and April can still feel quite chilly. That said, I’m always ready to shake off winter and bring a little color back into my wardrobe—something fresh, cheerful, and mood-boosting!
One of my go-to spots for those early spring pieces? Talbots. They’re always a step ahead with classic styles in fun colors and prints that make it easy to feel put-together (even if the weather isn’t cooperating yet).
Here are a few of my favorite finds to help you ease into the season in style!

Say Hello to Yellow!
I always love wearing yellow in the spring—it’s such a happy, uplifting color. And if you caught my Spring 2025 Color Report, you know it’s totally on trend this season.
I first wore this sunny little outfit on vacation in Florida a few weeks ago, and it was perfect for the warm weather. Now that I’m back home (where it’s still a bit chilly), I’ve swapped the sandals for sneakers and traded my white jeans for classic blue.
This look has such a polished, playful vibe. The floral appliqué tee adds a fun, whimsical touch and looks great either tucked in or worn loose. And even though it’s not a full head-to-toe monochromatic look, pairing similar shades on top gives it that fresh, pulled-together feel.
To top it off, I added this bright yellow poplin jacket—and I’m in love. The patch pockets are darling, the silver buttons add a touch of shine, and the fit is incredibly flattering with that nipped-in waist. It’s super lightweight and unlined, which makes it perfect for spring—you can easily push up the sleeves. It’s like a cross between a denim jacket and a cropped blazer. So clever!

Now, let’s talk about the jeans. My favorite pair of white jeans are Talbots’ slim-ankle jeans. What are they? They’re a cross between a skinny jean and a straight-leg jean. It’s a match made in heaven when you want a sleek look but you don’t want anything tight. I think it’s very flattering for many gals.

So Many Spring Colors!
Yellow is just one of the many gorgeous new spring colors at Talbots. There are also lots of pink, navy, green, and even red. It’s like a spring garden. Have a peek.
Spring into Blue!
The second outfit I wore in Florida and have begun wearing again now that I’m home is this sporty cable-knit sweater paired with jeans. This open knit comes in the most stunning shade of blue. (More about what to wear under an open knit sweater here.)
I’ve paired it with these light-wash jeans. These are Talbot’s straight-leg stovepipe Jeans. They’re a little more relaxed and wider through the leg, so they’re very comfy. I find the light, soft, powdery wash gives them a nice laid-back beach look.
Do you see what I see? Look closely to notice the subtle rhinestone embellishment that adds a touch of glamour to these jeans. I wear my Dean Davidson Sol earrings all year round, but I’m holding on to these natural-looking woven sandals and bag until they warm up a bit. For now…

I’ve started to wear these darling pink loafers. Click the links under my photos to see them up close. These very cute suede loafers are from Vivonic, so you know they must be comfortable.
I fell in love with the fabric and the stunning ballet pink color. Loafers are usually my thing because they are generally black and heavy-looking, but this super-soft, feminine-looking shoe made me go, “Wow!”
They come in so many cute colors, it was hard to decide. These are going to be the perfect shoes for me for spring. They’re dressier than a sneaker but not as masculine and clunky as a regular penny loafer.
So, I’m on my way to full-on spring. Let’s enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather coming our way here in Ontario! I’m ready for it!

Thanks Carolyn, Yes it is my favorite color, and red, and coral. I’m a true spring, and I stick to those colors pretty much. I’m a big believer in color theory. It makes a huge difference in lighting up your face and making look look fabulous!
LOve those slim ankle ones……..just checked and OP is gone. I will check measurements , sometimes a 2p works at Talbots but when I try that size on in the store, they are too big and always have to order. I can check the store also….might have sent the OP. They look so flattering on you! Sorry your brows were exactly as expected. I use NYX lift and snatch in blonde. Got my fingers crossed they soften for you.
