How to Style Burgundy Faux Leather Leggings: Check out this Chic Outfit!
Hi Ladies! If you’ve ever worn a pair of faux leather leggings, you know they’re a chic way to up your style game and give your wardrobe a youthful edge.
Of course, black is the most common color and the easiest to style because it goes with everything. But what about Burgundy Faux Leather Leggings? There’s always the concern that colored faux leather, predominantly reddish faux leather, might look a little tacky, depending on what you pair it with.
Not to worry. Today, I’m sharing some fabulous burgundy faux leather pants from Talbots, along with a great way to style them for a chic look.
How to Style Burgundy Faux Leather Leggings
These luxurious leggings are the latest from Talbots and a new favorite of mine. The cut is gorgeous, and the deep reddish-brown burgundy color is beautiful. These details make these pants a great starting point for any outfit.

Why Burgundy Leggings?
Black leggings, brown leggings, burgundy leggings. The fact is, they’re not really all that different in style. All these colors are dark neutrals, and they look their classiest when paired with other neutrals, such as black, gray, brown, navy, camel, ivory, burgundy, and even dark green. However, my favorite way to wear these burgundy leather pants is in a tone-on-tone style.

Tone on Tone or Monochromatic is Elegant
Tone-on-tone or Monochromatic means wearing one color from head to toe. When done right, it gives an elegant effect. The key is to combine slightly different textures/tones. It’s just too hard to match color perfectly, and your outfit looks flat without texture. Your outfit will look more interesting and sophisticated with subtle variations.
For example, my beautiful burgundy tunic sweater is a slightly brighter, more transparent, and perkier shade of burgundy than my muted, dusty burgundy-colored leggings. Additionally, the leggings are made of smooth, sleek faux leather, and the sweater is a textured, ribbed cotton-blend knit. You’ll also notice that the pants are shiny and the shirt is matte. If everything were the same, it would not be exciting.
Monochromatic is Trending
The monochromatic way of dressing is classic, and it never goes out of fashion, but right now, with all the neutrals we are seeing this Fall, it’s a very popular way of styling. Tone-on-tone is part of a trend we are witnessing called Quiet Luxury, which is characterized by a more understated, minimalist look that doesn’t scream ‘Look at me, I have money,’ but subtly conveys it.
Tone on Tone is Slimming
There’s a bonus to dressing tone on tone, and that is that it is very slimming. Wearing a single color from top to bottom creates a long, lean, uninterrupted line that draws the eye up and down the body, making you look taller and slimmer. This works for any color worn monochromatically, but especially dark colors like this deep burgundy. Dark shades absorb light, making your body appear smaller.
Finishing Touches
You could go all the way with this burgundy leather leggings outfit and wear burgundy shoes, too. This would make for a complete Monochromatic look, but I chose animal print flats. Did you know that animal print is considered neutral? It ties in beautifully with my outfit, with the print adding a playful touch of fun and excitement.
Jewelry Discount!
Just a quick mention of my jewelry from @deandavidson. Can you see my new square hoop earrings? These are fabulous – not too big or small, and they are on the medium-fine side, so if you have fine features like me, they are manageable. Lastly, I’d like to mention my classic Coach 26 bag, which pairs well with almost everything in my closet, including this. I highly recommend this adorable purse, which features a long cross-body strap for a hands-free option.
Final Note!
