Where do I begin? I love the Fall, especially all the earthy colors and textures, and I’ve found a lot of great Talbots pieces that nail it. Like this gorgeous pumpkin tunic sweater. It’s a simple, elegant style, but it feels totally modern. I love the very chic, high V-neckline, which is so much more flattering at my age than a tight, heavy turtleneck.
The knit itself looks rich and chunky, but in reality, it’s not a heavy, thick sweater that you slip on in the morning and decide to take off by noon because you are too darn hot! Long tops for jeans and leggings are hard to come by, but this one is perfect. It’s long enough to look like a tunic but not so long that it looks sloppy or frumpy, and it’s more slim-fitting than a lot of those big oversized tunic sweaters ( which, by the way, look very dated these days).

Classic Fall Staples from Talbots That Never Go Out of Style
Here it is. A classic floral sweatshirt that is pretty and timeless. I don’t wear a lot of prints, but when I see a good one like this, I snap it up. This is a super comfortable top that I’ve been wearing a lot. And it looks great with these Talbots straight-leg jeans – the style that suits everyone and is so on-trend right now. How to Style Talbots Fall Outfits for a Modern, Polished Look
There are some interesting color combos this year, and Talbots has picked up on those. For example, this burgundy/red embroidered sweater. I love it. It’s rich, but exciting at the same time, and since there’s so much going on with it, all you need are a pair of jeans. Talbots has some great wide-leg jeans, too, which I have been really enjoying, although it did take a while for me to branch out from my slim and straight-leg jeans, which are my first love.

Here’s another pair of wide-leg pants that I shared earlier in September. They’re still in stock! In addition to all Talbots’ great sweaters and jackets, they also have Sweater jackets! Yes, both combined into one, and I think it’s a great idea. I don’t always want a formal coat or a super soft sweater. This double-breasted burgundy sweater jacket is the best of both worlds, and you can wear it done up or partly or totally undone with a top or this striped tank underneath.

If you’re looking for a casual Fall dress, consider corduroy as a trendy option. I hate to tell you, but this one is almost sold out. I hate it when that happens, but watch out, because they sometimes restock. Take a look at their purple corduroy midi dress. You may like that even better. Anyway, what I wanted to point out were the boots.
My Favorite Talbots Accessories to Finish Your Fall Look
These boots are also from Talbots. If you have never shopped for boots or shoes, you really need to take a look. They are hidden gems. These boots are exactly where I’m at right now. Suede, modern, low comfy block heel, but not at all frumpy like you might expect from such a simple low heel boot. I am in love with these, and did you hear that skinny jeans are making a comeback? You can even wear these boots with skinny jeans and pair them with that orange sweater I showed you at the top of the post. Fab!

Hi Junebug, Thanks for this suggestion. I’ll have to delve into that. I don’t do fillers ( have tried them). It’s mainly Botox and especially microneedling which I find has really helped plump up my skin. I’ll have to take some photos next session. Thanks for the idea.
